Fire n' Forsberg
1:23 a.m. - 2005-08-04

WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, my brother went out at about 1130 for something to eat and he came back. Then he went back to his car cause he left his cell phone in it. And he saw our apartment's dumpster was up in flames!!!!

There are parking spaces next to it), but thankfullythe cars parked near it were not in the spaces by the flames. My brother runs with a nearby fire company and was able to use some of his on hand extinguishers to calm the flames down before help arrived. I had to wake one of my neighbors cause we needed another extinguisher.

Thankfully they got it under control ASAP and all is ok now. But that was kinda scary. And if my brother didnt forget his cell in his car, it couldve been a lot worse cause most everyone was asleep.

OH MY GOD! And I thought getting Darien Hatcher was enough to make me grin from ear to ear! Ok that's it. I want hockey and I want it now. I dont think Ive ever been this excited for hockey! :D :D

Flyers land Forsberg

Peter Forsberg is going back where he started. As first reported on TSN, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed Forsberg to a two-year deal worth $10.7 million.

Forsberg will get $5.7 million in the first year of the deal and $5.0 in the second year.

''Peter Forsberg is one of the best players in the game,'' said GM Bob Clarke in making the announcement. ''We signed him knowing that he puts us over the cap and we will have to trade some guys now.''

The aquisition of Forsberg puts the Flyers over the NHL's salary cap, but Clarke expects to make a trade within the next two days to get back under the league's financial limit.

Roenick told Philadelphia sports radio station WIP he was expecting to be traded, though a Flyers spokesman said there was no deal to announce.

''The Flyers have a better chance of winning the Stanley Cup with Peter Forsberg than with Jeremy Roenick,'' Roenick told WIP.

Forsberg was orginally drafted by the Flyers, 6th overall, in 1991. He was then traded to the Quebec Nordiques in the Eric Lindros deal in 1992 before ever playing a game with Philadelphia.

''In the end, Peter chose Philadelphia, it was his decision,'' Forsberg's agent Don Baizley said from Winnipeg.

Forsberg has 741 points in 580 NHL games. He was considered the top forward available in this off-season's free agent crop.
