Ten years of wonderful memories erased by a salary cap. I am so stunned. But I think Flyers fans all could see it coming. Goodbye to the end of an entire era of Flyers hockey. John LeClair got waived today by Bob the Snob aka Bob Clarke, the Flyers' GM. You have to be a true Flyers fan to know how much that stings. John has been there through the good and bad times for 10 seasons. No current Flyer has been there longer.
Tony Amonte was also waived. That will be a big slap in the face too, but not as much as the loss of John. Also, two players remain in Sweden to play hockey there, those being defensemen Marcus Ragnersson and Mattias Timander. I like Marcus, but Mattias usually pulled a Chris Therien (Who we shipped out mid last season, praise the Lord), and skated around like an ice princess and probably spent half the time jerking off, haha. But man, the way Raggy gave it his all every damn game will sorely be missed, and I hope he is tearing it up in Sweden. He has the potential to be the heart and soul of a team. Best wishes to John, Tony, Mattias and Marcus. May you succeed anywhere and everywhere you may go! (As if they read this, right? Haha).
