Flyers game tonight versus the Sens in Ottawa. Hopefully we can sneak a win out of this. I can deal with a tie, considering the Flyers and the Sens are the two top teams in the Eastern Conference as of now. But we didnt get to be a top team by sitting on our asses(Cept' for Burke and Therien). So I feel confident in the ability of the Flyers, but every time that the puck is shot at Burke I close my eyes and all but cringe lol. He makes me so damn nervous. The Devils dont know how lucky they are to not be on their 5th goalie this year LOL...but I can assume that brodeur is dead tired, playing every game and all, but he is good enough to do so :) Esche is coming back soon so my little heart couldnt be more content. But I really think the Flyers have what it takes to be the number one seed in the East. Ok, push me off of my high horse. Let me feel a little confident. Ok we sucked for a few weeks now, but our one goalie retired, the one we got from the Yotes'(Burke the Jerk as Jill calls him lol) has been doing a horrible job, and the Flyers' defense has only been making guest appearances in the games. Tsk,tsk,tsk...gotta step it up a few more notches, Fly Guys....we cant be number one if all you do is sit on your asses all game long(Or skate like figure skaters lol)
Read Kaytee's diary and read the Nascar stuff she had that she got from someone else's diary. That was funny, and I passed it onto the Sterling Marlin message board and so far people are liking it :)
I won a lot of 23 Simon Gagne cards on Ebay last night and I soooooo cannot WAIT to get them in the mail, cause Gagne is all that and a bag of chips(I always liked that saying lol).
I really want to get my little hands on a copy of the Darrell Waltrip autobiography. I didnt like him much when he was a racer in Cup, but I respect him a lot. He was a wonderful racer, a great announcer and he just seems so personable. Id love to meet him someday. That would be awesome. But at Dover, last year, I met Harry Gant!!! He was so cool, but I was so nervous around him that all I said was "Can you sign this for me?" and he said "Sure thing!" I had him sign his picture in the "50 Greatest Stock car drivers" book that I have. And he signed his name and the number '33',which is the number of his last ride which was in the white and green Skoal bandit ride.
I really am getting excited for baseball season. Of course, when I see the first Braves game of the year on TV, when I see Eli Marrero, or Eddie Perez behind home plate with catcher's gear on for the Braves, I know I will choke up. U know not seeing Javy Lopez in the lineup is gonna get me emotional. Ive been a Javy fan since I became a Braves fan, so having him not be there will definetly get me sad. But I also love the Baltimore Orioles, and knowing he went there, makes me feel sooooo much better. This is the equilivilent to the Justin Williams trade impact on you, Jill. Stings like that. Javy was my guy. But Maddux is gone too. Now we only have one of the "4 Aces" left. In the mid 90's, the 4 Braves starting pitchers in the rotation were called the "4 Aces" and that group was comprised as Greg Maddux,Steve Avery,Tom Glavine, and John Smoltz. After Smoltzie had Tommy John surgery a few years ago, when he was able to pitch again, they put him in for a few games as a closer. And he stayed a closer, and is the meanest closer in MLB. Ok, not really, lol...but he is really good at it, and he is the only remaining member of the "4 Aces". Feels like its almost the end of an era. Glavine left 2 years ago now, Avery left awhile ago, and Maddux just rejoined the Cubs, the team that Atlanta aquired him from. I am going to subscribe to "Chop Talk", the Braves magazine cause the Braves news up here is scarce, being in "Phillies Country". Used to get the copy of it each month from Joe(The Braves scout) but I dont live near him now(I live near but not a few houses down, but you get the point) and dont get it anymore. I dont even know if he still gets it anymore, not sure,never asked lol.
